Breakdown & Recovery

The business modelled: a national roadside assistance and recovery operator — patrols fixing at the roadside, recovery trucks moving what can’t be fixed, planned logistics and real-time dispatch running as one engine. Two working fleets (PATROL and RECOVERY), skills-matched work (toolkits, part lifts, transporter beds gated by length and weight), member and account customers, and contractual response promises the optimiser is measured against.

  • Live dispatch — desks, resources and work beside a live map; every list, marker and plan updating as Spiral re-optimises. The zoomed-out heat map shows demand pressure and late-signal reds at national scale.
  • The standby callout process — the Standby Callout scenario deals a crew held in reserve; when a breakdown burst overloads the shift, watch Spiral call them out (dark blue, top of the resource list), chase it from the desk or answer it in the engineer app, and see the roster rewrite itself on acceptance. The complete process — notifications, answer window, stand-down — runs underneath.
  • Remote diagnostics (demand reduction) — Stellantis-brand vehicles registered 2020+ carry a remote diagnostics capability: qualifying breakdowns raise a skill-routed action, and the diagnostic triage can conclude remote fix — no visit needed. The cheapest job is the one never driven to.
  • Diagnostic triage — the “Assist” call: a few questions morph an unknown fault into the right concrete job carrying everything learned.
  • Rebooking and verification — hard-to-serve work re-offered to easier times; destination and parts checks running indoors while the crew works the previous stop.
  • The engineer app — the field half: job offers, progress states, two-way messaging, callout accept/refuse.
  • National scale — the National Load scenarios run ~4,000 resources and thousands of jobs with an inherited or open plan; the Friday Demand Surge stresses a city evening with standby cover.
